Please enjoy this brief letter providing an overview of the challenge I’m doing, what Brace for Impact 46 is, how I got involved, and why I’m so passionate about this organization. Otherwise, if you’ve already read this information, feel free to skip to the bottom to make your pledge commitment official! Thank you for considering supporting myself and Brace for Impact 46!
Dear Friends & Family,
I’m requesting your help in an adventure I’m undertaking. I’ll be running in a timed, 9-hour Dark 2 Dawn Night Trail Race at Indian Camp Creek Park in Foristell, Missouri on 6/24/2023 to raise money for Brace for Impact 46. I’m asking for pledge commitments per mile of $1, $3, $5, or $10 (or more if you’d like!!!).
The goal for the timed race is for runners to get as many miles as possible in the 9hr time limit. My personal goal is 45 miles!
In January 2023, I joined Brace for Impact 46’s ambassador program, Circle of Impact. This run’s pledge fundraising is one of the three ways I’m raising money this year. The other two are the Brace for Impact Golf Invitational tourny on 6/28 and my personal event which I’ll be acting as Race Director for: Run 4 Impact STL 5k trail run at Cliff Cave County Park on 10/21. You may have seen me posting about all of them on social media so far this year!!
Would y’all consider making a pledge to support me and the charitable cause benefitting Brace for Impact 46?
Together with YOUR pledges, our IMPACT will:
Provide healthcare, education, food, housing, and more in HAITI.
Help rebuild houses and provide community education in NORTH ST LOUIS.
WHAT IS BRACE FOR IMPACT 46?
Brace for Impact 46 is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization founded by former St Louis Cardinals pitcher Kyle McClellan and his wife, Bridget, after a life changing mission trip to Haiti in 2014. I myself was blessed with my first mission trip to Haiti in 2014. The organization impacts children and families in Haiti and North St. Louis by funding programs to build schools and hospitals, provide healthy meals, and create local jobs. By fostering strong partnerships with local organizations, Brace for Impact gains knowledge of the exact needs of the communities they serve, and are able to create leaders that will use their influence to positively impact their communities.
Circle of Impact is Brace for Impact 46's official ambassador program, created to provide a platform for those who want to make an impact and get more involved with their mission and help support the Haiti and St. Louis programs.
I LEFT MY HEART IN HAITI
I am very passionate about this organization because my heart has been with Haiti ever since my own life changing mission trip to Haiti in 2014 through God’s Littlest Angels (GLA). On our trip, we stayed in Petionville, Haiti and traveled each day to Fort Jacques, Haiti where we helped finish construction on GLA’s new school. We also got some time with the kids at the orphanage!
HOW I GOT CONNECTED
Instagram’s algorithm knew of my love for Haiti because of all the Haitian accounts I still follow today, and thus it suggested a Brace for Impact ad looking for ambassadors to apply. Once I filled out the application and met their program manager for coffee, it was clearly a great fit!!
GETTING BACK TO HAITI
As an ambassador, we each have annual fundraising goals of $6,000, and if we hit that goal we get to attend their Gala in September as well as a half-paid mission trip to Haiti with the Brace for Impact team in January. So it’s super exciting to me that you are considering supporting me and Brace for Impact!
INSTRUCTIONS TO MAKE A PLEDGE:
Please fill out the Pledge Commitment Form below with your information and your Pledge Commitment, and I’ll follow up after the race with a post notifying donors of how many miles I ran along with some screen shots and a link to my Strava profile! After the race concludes, those who did a Per Mile Pledge commitment will take the total miles ran multiplied by their $ per mile pledge to calculate the total amount to be donated via my personal fundraising page on Brace for Impact 46’s website (located here). Note: If you’re doing a Flat Donation instead, feel free to make your donation now via my fundraising page, or wait until the race is over. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me directly at Run4ImpactSTL@gmail.com.
Furthermore, feel free to follow my journey on the socials below, with the fifth icon being my Strava profile!
